I’m in pursuit of a lot more happiness in 2015! To be perfectly honest, even though it’s still the beginning of a brand new year, my year could be going a lot better and I’ve been having a pity party out of this world. On New Years Day, we were saying and yelling “HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!” But really now … how happy has your year been so far? Better than mine? And are there things we can all be doing instead of whining about our problems … to make things better in each of our homes? Well of course there are!!!
HAPPINESS IS –
And what IS the definition of ‘happiness”? MY dictionary says “It’s the condition of supreme well being and good spirits!” It’s “the feeling of extreme bliss and blessedness” Happiness often times comes about when we come into extremely good news or good fortune. But many people are just naturally happy go lucky all the time. OR … are they really? Or is that constant loud laughter and huge smile that devours their faces almost 24/7 … just a cover up?
My Public Melt Down
I even had one of my most recent melt downs (something I’ve never ever had until these last few months – maybe it’s the long work hours at this desk and not enough play time) but I had that melt down just before church service this past Sunday morning – right in front of the whole congregation and the choir just started singing acapella – “without me at the piano”.
I’m sure those that could see me at the back of the church talking and blubbering to Bro Jake were thinking “Oh SHE’S on a rant … POOR BRO JAKE!” But no … I was just overwhelmed with a situation I was dealing with … with one of those less fortunate people that I seem to attract like a big giant magnet. And I had just about had it with that person and their situation and I was crashing like a big jet plane that ran out of fuel in mid-air. OH DEAR ME!!!
Then yesterday after more of that same situation, I realized “HEY – GRANNY! What is that line you’re always saying? “Life is what you make of it – always has been and always will be?” And HEY!!! There are going to be some people that you just can’t help! DUH!!! That’s sad but oh so true!
Inspirational Quotes Have Inspired Me – A New ME Starts Today
SO I got up this morning with the thought “Today is the first day of the rest of my life” YUP!!! Sure is!!! At the beginning of this year, I had a new slate laying in front of me with 365 new and un-used mysterious days just for me and my little world around me – if I’m blessed to get them all – and what have I already done with the ones I’ve already had this year? Mope – Brood – Worry – Stew and even have a melt down or two.
Now just how productive is that? There are days of intentional living in this month just coming up – and the month after that and the next one and on and on.
So what am I going to do with those days? What are you going to do with your days for the rest of this week? The rest of this month? The rest of this YEAR?
YES!!! If you live in the heartland it is cold as kraut!!! And it’s gloomy to boot! But we can do so much to make these days of bitter cold winter so much better.
