Take The Real Age Test HERE And Let's Talk About Getting Healthy!

Do you ever read my blog and read a simple home remedy I've given you and then you think to yourself "Gee, Self..."I" have that problem and I'm going to try that simple home remedy the Katydid talked about...I sure hope it WORKS."  Well...geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezzz I DO TOO  :-/

Like right about now, for instance.  Billy had another bad report from Dr Patel from his blood work.  His cholesterol and triglycerides and sugar were all bad and even his white blood cell count was high.  I think and hope and pray I KNOW what made the white blood cell count high..and if I'm right that's no big deal..but GOODNESS we've got to get a grip on both of our numbers that affect the heart.




It sounds so simple when you hear the remedy for those things...doesn't it?  Walk, eat more foods to lower your LDL and raise your HDL and to lower your triglycerides...back off on sugar and high carbs to get the sugar number down and lose 40 pounds.  Well SOUNDING simple and actually DOING it are 2 very different things and they're miles apart...but we're on it for the umpteenth time.

Our local television station WPSD ..has a 10,000 steps program going and they boldly posted on their facebook page the other day that Mike Mallory had lowered his cholesterol drastically since he started the program just one month ago...So I posted to them and just said "Ok tell us the TRUTH...did he lower his cholesterol with just walking and diet?  AND if he DID...how much is he walking...how far...how often...and exactly what is he eating?"  They came right back to me and admitted that he had started taking a statin drug and that 'helped' along with the walking and diet...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO let me TELL you...you can lower you cholesterol with those statin drugs..if you're living on homemade ICE CREAM...But those statin drugs put Billy on crutches a year and a half ago and I'm wondering if that isn't my problem right now...and I've stopped mine, once again.

Soooooooooo I'm studying to beat the band...I've cancelled my check up with Patel to see if I can do these things and get my numbers down naturally and then I'll reschedule...But I MUST lose about 15 or so pounds and walk daily and eat all the right things...and make the other things 'just an occasional treat'...so we'll see....prayers appreciated.

Our HDL needs to be above about 60...because it's the HDL that carries the bad cholesterol from our arteries and lowers the risk of plaque buildup and clogging of the arteries...OK...so knowing THAT...what are some foods that raise the HDL...well, whole grains, beans, fruits, salmon and mackerel, fish oil supplements...

Walking also raises the HDL ... which is a good thing...and it lowers the LDL which is SUPER...a double whammy just from a 20 minute walk at a brisk clip....

Foods that lower LDL..which is the bad cholesterol...are oats, beans, nuts, apples, grapes, BLUEBERRIES..one of my favorites...Almonds are super too and they also bring your PH into a much better range.  Spinach is good to lower cholesterol as is salmon...and we need a good fish like salmon about 3 times a week...

The thing of it IS..and so many people just don't BUY this...but when they refuse to buy it it's because they don't want to DO it so they play their 'refuse to accept' card....but this is just a fact folks..."If our diet and life style can make us UNHEALTHY....then our diet and lifestyle can make us HEALTHY again...

I was piddling a little late yesterday afternoon and found the Real Age test online that Dr Oz has talked about so many times and I decided just to take it and see what my age is according to my diet and lifestyle...and guess what?  It said I'm 60...instead of 66...AND it said I could make just a few changes and go even younger....well I'm all for THAT...

So I'm going to have Kim post a link to the Real Age test and I hope you'll have time to take it today or tonight...and just see where you are...according to your own current diet and lifestyle...It took me about 20 minutes to take the test...Now if I had KNOWN that in advance...I probably wouldn't have started it...but I'm glad I did and now I know some improvements I need to make in ME...

You know...we don't need a cheeseburger every day...or we don't need fried potatoes 4 times a week...BILLY  :8)   We can make those things a TREAT and we can live on healthier foods...because when it comes right down to it...all that really matters is that the people you love the most are happy and healthy and all that other stuff is just pretty little sprinkles on our ice cream sundae's and not really that necessary at all...in the wide realm of things...

We must learn to eat to live and stop living to eat...there is so sooo SOOOOO much more to life than french fries and coca colas...
