A Love Story Today...A Texas Mystery Next Week

Aaaaahhh...A simple love story that gives the viewer goose bumps and butterflies...I didn't even think they made those anymore.  It was just like in the days of Doris Day and Rock Hudson and Frankie and Annette...everybody kept their clothes on during the whole movie...I didn't have to click the channel one single time to move away from a scene I didn't need to be watching...it was old fashioned romantic love at it's best...pure and simple.  And I'm giving you a heads up..because it's coming back on the "E" channel at noon today...so I hope you can set your recorders to watch it after you get through church and lunch and can settle down in the living room and savor every single magical moment of this movie.

In the movie, "Keanu Reeves is Alex, a young architect who's just moved into a picturesque lake house near Chicago.  While settling in, he discovers a note in his mailbox from the previous tenant, a lonely doctor named Kate, asking whomever has just moved in to forward her mail if the postal service fails to do so.  Oddly, the note is dated 2006, but Alex knows full well it's 2004.  He thinks little of the mistake until he also discovers that the forwarding address doesn't exist yet - in 2004 it's a construction site for condos that won't open for another year and a half!

Eventually the time-crossed lovers discover that they really are two years apart, but can somehow magically communicate by placing letters in the mailbox at the lake house.  They discover in each other the soul mate they've been looking for.  (They also discover they have the same dog, one that runs away from Alex in his near future and is found by Kate in her recent past!)"  It's a little hard to keep up with...but OH so worth the effort...

The screen chemistry of Reeves and Bullock doesn't so much sizzle as percolate...and percolate is what "I" like to see in a love story movie...I want no part of movies with passionate tumbles in the hay and desperate attempts to rip each others clothes off while eating at each others faces like a Tiger ripping apart his prey...I LOVE pure and simple...unadulterated true love stories...Disney style....where just a simple glance across a room connecting 2 hearts...can take you to your knees.....

It was just a fantastic movie and I was soooooooooo glad to find it because I was having another lonely slumber party for one and I was wearing myself OUT clicking back and forth on the television....They just don't make movies like this anymore...and what a shame.

Well...it's Ding Dong Day in the canyon this morning.  We've had a little rain overnight...So I hope Kev is ok over there in floodland...I'll have to check on him in a bit...But I don't think we got enough to hurt his repair project....hope to goodness not...

If you read yesterdays blog...you know we have a mystery story coming up on Tuesday or Wednesday and it's going to be a doozie and we're going to try to solve it.  It's the story of a wife that committed suicide in 2010 and after she died the family found a strongbox that the husband had been told to never ever open.....She had been so mysterious during their marriage...and reclusive...didn't want to leave the house or get involved with other people...so he said he finally had to leave her and take their young daughter with him because she was so odd and mysterious.....SO after the suicide they found in this strongbox that she had had at least 2 previous identities but even the Social Security Investigative detective can't find what she was running or hiding FROM.  And now he's put the story out hoping someone will read it and be able to help him.  There's even a link to get a message TO the detective.
There are many clues...she has ties to many states in the West and North West...especially Texas and Idaho and Washington State and Oregon and Arizona...and a newspaper clipping was found in the strong box....and other things...that to ME give clues....SO I'm going to share that story Tuesday or Wednesday....hoping one of our blog readers will know this woman.  She was a beautiful woman...very simple in dress and looked like she'd be a very nice person to get to know....It will be interesting to see if we can possibly solve this mystery.  So please stay tuned and don't miss the blog on "The Mystery Woman From Texas"

We've got a pot luck tonight for bible school commencement....so I've gotta get going and get busy...

We'll talk again tomorrow if the good Lord's willing.  I hope you'll share todays blog so many others can see this super grand movie and know about the mystery story coming up.

Peace and love from the canyon...I love you all gobs and gobs and this has been a bird's eye view of the katydid and until next time...you are loved........

This is THE LAKE HOUSE and the magical mailbox from the movie...When these two lovers separated by time would leave notes for each other...the red flag on that mailbox would pop up....and I LOVE this house...it looks so inviting...even though I'm desperately afraid of water  :-/   I LOVED THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!  And that's rare that I find a movie I really REALLY love.....
