My First Citizens Arrest and My Pet Peeves

My First Citizens Arrest and My Pet Peeves

I've always kind of thought...that as we women age...we get even more patient with time.  You know we all just kind of drift into the classic sweet old lady syndrome...But I actually think as I get older I'm getting less patient as time goes on and I don't know why that is.

I've always been an extremely patient person with tons of compassion and a huge giving heart...And now you can believe me when I tell you...the compassion and giving heart are still in tact....but I've about had it out the wazoo with some people and some things...

One of my biggest pet peeves are these people who post on facebook...when someone is right in the throngs of their most horrific tragedy by having lost a loved one or whatever and 50 people will post under the original post and they'll say things like "If I can do anything just let me know"  ... or "OMG HILDA I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOO SORRY ABOUT THIS HORRIFIC TIME YOU"RE GOING THROUGH...."IF I CAN DO ANYTHING...PLEASE LET ME KNOW!"  Or even..."Praying for you and yours at this trying time Wanda..."IF I CAN DO ANYTHING...LET ME KNOW!"

BREAKING NEWS!!!  IF Hilda or Wanda or even the Jolly Green GIANT are going through a tragedy....GUESS WHAT?????  THEY NEED A LITTLE HELP AND THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE TO ASK YOU FOR IT....Maybe they could use food to get them through a few rough days...or help with young kids...or just someone to just sit in the corner and BE there...They should not have to run an ad in the paper or post on facebook..."I've just lost my husband and we have 5 little kids under 6...I'm really going through a rough time right now so could someone bring some fried chicken or barbecue by or maybe some Hostess Cupcakes and Coca Colas for the kids to have something to snack on...I am just overwhelmed and at my lowest point and don't know where to turn..I could sure use a little help..Thanks"

IF someone you know is going through a tragedy and you must post on facebook...If you know them well...post and say "Oh I'm so sorry Wanda/Hilda/Jolly Green Giant...sending prayers up for you right now for peace and strength and I'll be at your door within 2 hours with food and even a helping hand or shoulder to cry on if you need me to stay...see ya soon!"  Ooooooooooooooooooooooh "I" see...you were going to the MALL or go for a pedicure and don't have the time?   Then just stay off of facebook and that will give you a little more time....My GOODNESS the hours some people spend on FACEBOOK....They could save the whole WORLD if they would put that much time and thought into doing a few good deeds....

Another BIG Pet Peeve of mine are the Drama Queens of facebook.  I think some of them LIVE to be a drama queen.  They will post and say "OMG OMG OMG..NOOOOOOOOO...OMG OMG....PLEASE PRAY!!!!!!"   and then they're gone for 16 hours without another word....while 67 of you post begging the drama queen to tell you "Hey...WHAT'S UP?"  I always think the drama queen is lurking around her computer...seeing how much commotion she has stirred up...and thinking to her arrogant self..."Hey I'm POPULAR"
There used to be a HUGE Drama Queen on facebook...I guess she's still on here...but she's dropped me because I kept complaining about her....hahahahaha   But she would post the most ridiculous posts....like..."I'm having such a bad day....so much to do...so many errands and on top of that I have to go shop for new clothes and go get a pedicure....I wish some really good friend would bring our supper over so I don't have to cook"   AND THE GOOFY FRIENDS WOULD TAKE HER SUPPER...because she would post about it the next day....And I'm seeing this post and thinking..."Is there a woman ON facebook that doesn't have a full day....somebody shoot this woman and give the rest of us that ARE working hard a little more elbow room and air to breathe'.....GEEEEEEZZZZZ
She had a yard sale one time that the geezer and I went to and she lives in a mansion...but the porch and through the window was just soooooooooooo messy....so I was easing up on the porch to look in the big open windows  :-0  YES I DID...SOMEBODY HAS TO CHECK THESE THINGS OUT!!!   And the geezer called to me and said "Hey...Where are you going?"  I said "I had to look in her windows and see if her house is tidy because of the way she sounds like she works so hard on facebook...and it's horrific"  :-/

And then there are wreckless drivers and speeders....But not on OUR road...and not any more.  I've always had a thing for wreckless drivers/drunk drivers/speeders and I made my first citizens arrest at age 23.  Little did I know that the man I pulled over...was a wanted criminal and the cops had been looking for him for months....Well "I" found him...and when I took him in...their mouths dropped open like I had just said "I just left Fort Massac where I shot and killed all your moms...SURPRISE!"  :-0    I HAD NO CLUE what all the hub bub was about....but they were shocked and overjoyed....I felt like I had maybe just won an Oscar or something...but I wasn't quite sure why....
But I was going out Hwy 45 going from Bill's Market (at that time) towards where McDonalds sits now...and this man in front of me was in his truck and swerving all over the road and he came upon 2 little boys walking along the side of the road and he started chasing them out in the field at the fairground with his truck....I had our boys with me and they were like 1 and 3 and I just took out behind that old geezer in that truck and I was honking and waving....he slowed down and pulled over and I said "Hey...follow me" He was so drunk and out of it and I guess he thought he was about to get lucky....and the fool followed me....right to the police station"  I pressed charges and he was already wanted and he got 3 years.   The cops called my geezer at work...and we had only been married about 4 years at this time...and he wasn't fully aware of my talents and was so shocked I had arrested a wanted criminal....HIS mouth dropped open TOO...

And I have worked as a volunteer deputy ever since.  I could tell you many stories...but we'll save my Volunteer Deputy Days for another day.  I DO want to tell you real quick about the big white truck that almost sent me to my great reward 2 weeks ago tonight.  I was pulling out of our drive way to go to church and he came from towards Round Knob and he was going about 90 miles an hour....It was all I could do to get out of his way in time and that truck was so big and my car is a small Ford Fusion...He would have killed me instantly if he had hit me....SOOOOO I posted about the big white truck the next day on facebook...and I got a few posts and several private messages about others that have had an encounter with a big white truck near Round Knob...So on that next Monday morning I was up at the mailbox waiting on him because one of the ladies told me he passes our house about 8:30am....and when he flew by I took out right behind him....I was running 75 and couldn't even catch him to get his license number....So I just called the police and tried to keep him in sight and I followed him to Hittermans Hardware....they had 3 police officers there right behind me.
I won't give his name but I WILL tell you that this man called us later that day and talked to Billy ...he said it wasn't HIM that had passed so fast on that Wednesday night...but he was running too fast and he wouldn't let that happen again...Now that was VERY nice of him to call...and maybe that WAS the wrong truck...
Billy had a big white truck pass HIM going to the nursing home right about that time and he got his license number and I have it in the car at all times now...I'm looking for THIS truck now...AND I WILL FIND IT...Billy said THAT truck was running about 90mph..and he didn't follow him because he could have been rushing to the hospital.....yeow right...."I" will be following him to SEE where he's going and I'll have backup called and on the scene......So his days are numbered....details soon.

I will say this....the deputies have been keeping North Avenue hot since I turned in the fast drivers on our road...Seems like every time we look towards the mailbox or run to town...we see a deputy...and that's good....and I'm watching TOO...I have a notebook and pen in the passenger seat of my squad car at all times now and I AM GOING to slow traffic down...if I haven't already....so far...so good...Word has gotten around that there is a dingbat traffic cop on North Avenue and traffic is moseying by and even all along North Avenue in the county....so shall we pray

Well...that's enough for today....SEE SOMETHING...SAY SOMETHING....that's MY motto...It's the only way to clean up our county....and yours...

Peace and love and this has been a bird's eye view of the katydid and until next time...you are loved....
