Let's Talk: More Texas Mystery and This and That

Well....it's a grand and groovy...zippity doo dah day in the canyon this morning.  I stood in the front door and watched one of my little bucks feed at the food plot with 3 does at the break of day.  And I could tell it was going to be a sunny day as it was breaking day...so I was so excited...just to see the sun.

I've had a kinda rough year this year...but not as rough as some....there have been 2 suicides in our area this week...and one was just last night....
One was a 70 year old man and he jumped off the I-24 bridge...and the one last night was a young man about 35 or so I believe...give or take.
How absolutely horrifically sad that someone would be so low that they think that is their only way out.  If I did that...with the way MY luck runs....'tomorrow' would have been the day my luck was going to turn around...and here I ended it the night before....Not me...no matter how dark a situation gets...I'm always looking for that ray of sunshine on the horizon....
A friend posted after the jumper the other day and said she couldn't imagine someone doing something like that and if we ever find her in a situation that looks like suicide to please investigate because it was FOR SURE a murder and not a suicide..  :-)  But we sure need to be praying for these families....

I want to give you just a little more on the Texas Mystery Woman that I left out in my rush yesterday.
She left a long love letter to her husband and a letter to her little girl to be opened on the little girls 18's birthday.  So even in HER mysterious despair...she was still filled with love for those closest to her.
They said when the dad and brothers got there the house was in such disarray and she had been so particular and tidy before her husband left her.  So that shows you right there...she just kind of gave up hope of having a good life after her husband moved out.
And that newspaper headline about the 3 kids that died in a fire....she just had to be connected to that fire in some way.  They said at the time OF that fire in 1971...she would have been about 2 years old...but STILL...maybe she was a survivor of that fire....maybe the ONLY survivor....
This story just absolutely fascinated me and I'd LOVE to be a real investigator and get to the bottom of unsolved mysteries....

We have an unsolved mystery right her in our own area...but I've heard that people that have tried to look into that mystery ... have turned up dead themselves...possibly as many as 5 people....And many of us think we know who committed that original murder anyway...we just don't have the gun power and backup to do anything about it  :-0

Well...it's a holiday for most...but here in the canyon...it's looking like it's going to be a work day.   We hope to go to the fireworks tonight if they're not rained out.  We used to go to an old field in the Unionville Bottoms...and oh my goodness how I loved going down there....Just the geezer and me on an old country lane with 2 wide open fields on each side of us....listening to the crickets and bullfrogs and watching the lightning bugs before the fireworks....But we had a scare or two down there when some young rascals came through...feeling their oats...and so we changed our watching spot.  But we have plans to do that tonight...Lord willing.

This is just a bunch of nothing today...so let's just wrap it up.  TODAY started a 2nd feature of Bird's Eye View and I'm calling that "Thanks For The Memories:  Songs Of Yesteryear"  and I'm going to try to do that daily or close to it.....and just post one of my favorite love songs from long ago...and talk just a bit about it or how or why I'm drawn to it...I hope you'll check out today's song...there's a place for you to click to give a listen and then a short story...you can find the link on this blog page or go to my facebook profile page and click from there.

I hope you all have an absolutely wonderful July 4th...It's always a kind of sad holiday for me because I feel the summer is half over...but we're going to manage to round us up some fun in the next couple weeks or so...and when we do I'll tell ya all about it....

Now just because today was a dud blog....don't you skip tomorrow...because if you DO...tomorrow's blog will be the one that has repercussions that reach round the world...and all you'll be able to say is...."OH SHOOT!!!  I almost ALWAYS read her blog...but I missed that one"  :-(

Peace and love from the canyon and this has been a bird's eye view of the katydid and until next time...you are loved....

A typical July 4th in the 1950's.....aaahhhhh those were the days......
