The Four Lads - Moments To Remember: Songs of Yesteryear

Give this song about 8 seconds to get through that awful opera start...
and then it will knock you off your feet...

Thanks For The Memories: Songs of Yesteryear
Moments To Remember by The Four Lads
Oh my goodness...WHAT a LOVE song...I can't even imagine...grown ups full of enough love and warm and fuzzy that they could even write a song like this.  It was written by Al Stillman and Robert Allen in 1955 and boy did they do a super duper grand and groovy job.
And OH my GOODNESS the harmony of the Four Lads...WOW
All of us baby boomers can relate to: the quiet walks and the noisy fun...'maybe' the ballroom prize we almost won....We have ALL of those moments to remember....
And the drive in movie where we'd go and somehow never watched the show.....oh WOW, WOW, WOW  :-) We have those moments ... to remember.
But those of us that are the luckiest....not only have the old memories...we still have those same old geezers and geezerettes...Thank you Lord, for your blessings on us.
I don't know about many of you...But I am so SO stuck in the 50's and 60's....OH my GOODNESS....that's the only place that a hopeless romantic could get stuck....I can't imagine this generation or even the last 2 or 3...being stuck in THEIR dating years...because they just don't seem to take dating or a special someone very serious.....Now I'm talking about MANY of them...not all.
I used to set so cuddled up in the car with Billy when he was driving....MY daddy used to tell me "I saw you and Billy going down 5th Street when I went to town and you were almost in his lap...you need to move OVER"  :-)  But that's the way many couples were back then....our generation was into cuddling BIG time.  We wanted to hold hands...and set cuddled watching a movie or tv...we loved leaving notes for each other and just doing all the little things that make such a big difference.  You just don't see that any more...There just doesn't seem to be that special connection between couples these days and hasn't for many years...and that's so very sad...they have no clue what they're missing...
Young people date these days and by the 3rd date they know everything there is to know about every inch of each others bodies and they think they're 'in love'....nope...they're in LUST...and the divorce paper...if they even get THAT far...will prove it in a few months.
But let's leave this song on a warm and fuzzy note.  If you were blessed enough to have grown up in the 1950's and 60's....I'm sure YOU have your share of moments to remember....and maybe you still have that special someone right there beside you...I hope so...we sure do.
But for some....."Though summer turned to winter and that present disappeared...The laughter you were glad to share still echo's through the years....And when other nights and other days...have found you gone your separate ways....You still have those moments to remember"

The New Year's Eve we did the town
The day we tore the goal post down
We will have these moments to remember
The quiet walks, the noisy fun
The ballroom prize we almost won
We will have these moments to remember
Though summer turns to winter
And the present disappears
The laughter we were glad to share
Will echo through the years
When other nights and other days
May find us gone our separate ways
We will have these moments to remember
(The drive in movie where we'd go)
(And somehow never watched the show)
We will have these moments to remember
Though summer turns to winter
And the present disappears
The laughter we were glad to share
Will echo through the years
When other nights and other days
May find us gone our separate ways
We will have these moments to remember

Thanks For The Memories:  Songs Of yesteryear
will be posted before the blog some, many or most mornings.
I can't get more honest than that.

But here's the kicker...no matter what I talk about in my blog each morning...By posting a daily love song from yesteryear and talking a little about it...there will always be a little love coming daily from me...to you.

The very best love stories just have no ending
and I'm just so very blessed to be living one of those love stories.
