Todays Blog Could SAVE YOUR LIFE!!!









Todays blog probably won't give you even a smile on your face...much less a belly laugh or a warm and fuzzy feeling...but it could very possibly...save your life.

I learned yesterday that a good friend has pancreatic cancer...two of the scariest words in the English language...because the survival rate for pancreatic cancer...past 5 years...is 5%.   Most are gone in less than 1 year...and many of those in about 6 months.

The problem with diagnosing pancreatic cancer early...is that there are usually no early warning signs...nothing you can really 'put your finger on'...and by the time you get symptoms that are alarming enough to go to the doctor...it's already...too late.

When I researched this yesterday....to refresh what I had learned in 2000 at the Golden Carrot...I found that 43,140 people were expected to be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2010. 

Some of the symptoms of pancreatic cancer are pain in  the upper tummy...nausea...significant weight loss...sometimes a yellowish skin tone...
If you're already in your senior years and newly diagnosed with diabetes...that's often an early warning sign...

Causes of pancreatic cancer are...smoking, a diet low in fruits and veggies, a diet high in red meat, drinking too many soft drinks.....the common sweetener, Frutose...has been linked to growth of pancreatic cancer cells....gingivitis is also sometimes a prelude to pancreatic cancer........SO what does all of this mean exactly and what in the dickens can we do about it...to keep it out of 'our' lives?

All food and drink....goes through the liver.  The health of the liver is mandatory for the health of the pancreas...ALL of the organs in the upper tummy need to function properly for all of those organs to stay healthy...the stomach itself, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, and deuodonum (sp?).  So it just stands to reason to 'me'....that we should be first and foremost...eating foods and drinking liquids that support the liver...
ANYTHING....ANY FOOD OR DRINK...in excess...is damaging to the liver and pancreas.....The liver manufactures and releases bile...and bile helps digestion....BILE...is a dark green or yellowish liquid that's made by the liver and stored in the gallbladder...to help with digestion...hardened bile..is what makes gallstones.
There are foods that support the liver and improve its function.  Those are foods that detox the liver...and foods that support and make the liver 'healthier'.

Some detox foods are: broccoli, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage....these are all very powerful foods...that work to keep the liver healthy.
Lemon..in hot water...first thing in the morning...helps to cleanse the liver and promote a detox...it stimulates bile production and cleanses the tummy and bowel...

Delores used to say...at the Golden Carrot...heal the gallbladder...but whatever you do...don't take it out....but doctors will tell you...it's giving you a problem...we'll just take it out...a gallbladder is of no use anyway...WHAT???

Free radicals...are little molecules that damage our organs and make us AND our organs...age.  But eating foods high in antioxidants...will prevent that damage....

And antioxidants...the other foods that are good for the liver..are: prunes, raisins, all kinds of berries, blue, black, strawberries......oranges, pink grapefruit...canteloup..apples...pears....apples are actually said to reduce the stress load on the liver....so who ever made up that saying "an apple a day keeps the doctors away"...may have known what they were talking about...

When we did craft shows decades ago...we had a saying we'd put on a sign and it absolutely sold like hotcakes....it said, "The best time to tell your spouse you love them...is before someone else does."  But another version of that saying could go right here...."the best time to battle cancer...is before you get it"  Amen???    I'd say.....AMEN!!!

If you have cancer...and your doctor can get you in remission....chances are...it's gonna come back...in another spot..and usually more agressive the 2nd time than the first....BECAUSE....you get a 'cured' diagnosis...so you go right back to doing what you did in the first place to let those cells come to life....it's like a mole in the yard...you see the mole hill....you do what you think you can do to kill that mole...you make a hole in the hill and put all kinds of goofy things in that hole...and set back and go ...."aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh I showed THAT rascal"...but before you even pack your bags for a good vacation...you look out and there that rascal is again...in another spot....and when you look closely...you can see the little tunnel he took to get to that 'new spot'...cancer does the same thing....you kill it out in one spot...but cancer isn't going to go away...just because you said so or tried to make it happen...'after' the fact...Once it has a hold of you....it's going to be a major chore from here on out to keep it at bay...EVEN if you are 'declared cured'....You're not cured!  That cancer is just laying and waiting until it's ready to raise it's little head AGAIN...and it will if you don't really watch your diet....HOWEVER....YOU ABSOLUTELY CAN...keep those new cancer cells from waking up and going on a hike...if you work at it...

So we all need to be eating healing foods...and even drinking healing juices...

When I told them I was leaving the Golden Carrot...everybody was having a fit...because I had a real passion for taking the time to take people aside and really help them put together a healing program...and I used to tease them and say...It's no big deal...I'll have an anti cancer clinic going in Massac County before you know it....but goodness....I don't even do these things for 'us' like I should....I could be diagnosed myself....tomorrow..or next week.

We ALL have cancer cells in our bodies...right this minute...and those that get cancer...are the ones that didn't do enough good things...to keep those cancer cells sleeping...so I've said it before and I'm gonna say it again....the best time to fight cancer....is before you get it......

There is one doctor in all of the United States that has been successful in putting pancreatic cancer in remission...and that's Dr Nicholas Gonzales in New York City....his program is natural...but agressive.

When I was at the Golden Carrot...I was also told the oldest living pancreatic cancer patient lived just 2 blocks from our store....and his last name was Driver...I can't remember the first name...but he was the son of the man who owned Drivers Clothing store on Broadway......his sister would come in and I'd talk to her and ask about her brother....she told 'me'...that he refused all treatment...and did only natural healing things...juiced several times a day...and was thin...and frail looking...but felt good and was able to be out and about and did all his own chores....one day she was in...she said, "I just left him and he's raking his yard"....He had lived 2 years at that time..with pancreatic cancer...I wonder if he's still alive today....

So let's all get on a healthier diet and lifestyle...goodness...staying healthy is NOT a joke!  This life we're living...this is NOT a dress rehearsal...we either make it a good and healthy life...or our time on this earth has been pretty much wasted...goodness gracious....... Buy a mini trampoline and bounce on that thing in front of the tv for just 5 to 10 minutes about twice a day....just that simple bouncing...keeps your lymph system moving and keeps toxins moving OUT of your body....and you can find them at Walmart and Sears and other places for about $30...they're one of the best investments you can make in your health...I've had one for decades...now why in the world am I not bouncing on that thing....do you know why?   Because I don't like liter...and things out of place...and what's more 'out of place' than a trampoline in the middle of the living room...in front of the tv.....for goodness sakes...how stupid am "I"......

The time to fight cancer....is before we get it....now let's DO IT!!!

SOOOOOOOOOOOO I'm thinking we need to learn more about T-Cells....if T cells can destroy cancer.....so take a look at what I found....


T-cells are a type of white blood cell that plays an important role in the body's immunity. Regulatory t-cells, a specific type of t-cell, is particularly important in maintaining a balance in the immune system. T-cells function and their quantity in the body can be affected by and also can contribute to many diseases and conditions including AIDS and certain kinds of cancer. Research shows that maintaining a healthy diet is one of the best ways to protect your immune         
 
 
Green Tea
Recent research shows that a component of green tea naturally increases regulatory t-cells. Scientists are now turning to green tea as a better option than medication. You should drink at least one cup of green tea a day, even when you are healthy, as a preventative measure. Green tea can be drunk cold or hot. If you don't like the taste of green tea, mask the taste by mixing it into juice, smoothies or even soup.

Papaya

  • Papaya, especially the Carica Papaya, has recently been found to increase regulatory t-cells, but it has been used to treat many diseases and cancers for centuries. The fruit, its seeds and even its leaves are found to be beneficial. Try eating some ripe fruit, dried fruit or even drinking some papaya leaf tea. The stronger the tea, the more effective it is said to be. 

Vitamin and Mineral Rich Food

  • Folic acid, vitamin B 6, riboflavin and thiamin are particularly important to the proper functioning of t-cells and their quantity. The list doesn't stop there. Foods rich in vitamins and minerals are essential to keeping t-cell count up, and that means eating a lot of fruits and vegetables. Raw fruits and vegetables are the best way to get a maximum amount of these nutrients. Dark leafy green vegetables, cauliflower, broccoli, squash, tomatoes, strawberries and carrots are all nutrient rich produce that may increase t-cells.

Protein, Healthy Fats and Fiber

  • Protein and its amino acids are a vital ingredient in t-cell count. Many protein-rich foods also contain vitamins, minerals and healthy fatty acids that also increase t-cell function including liver, fish and shell fish. Intestinal health is also essential in increasing t-cell count because much of the immune system depends on the intestine to absorb nutrients. One of the best ways to improve intestinal health is by eating high fiber foods like whole grains and beans.
